Working in the Blue Mountains
Working in the Blue Mountains means understanding a single main road and railway line through the mountains, which makes movement easy to follow and hard to hide. the Blue Mountains is a string of towns along the Great Western Highway, and our operatives plan around that rather than turning up and hoping. Where a matter runs across several days we rotate vehicles and positions so that a familiar car never becomes part of the scenery.
We work regularly across Katoomba, Springwood, Leura, Glenbrook and Blackheath, and throughout the rest of Sydney.

Investigation law in New South Wales
Before anything starts, you should understand what is and is not permitted. Observation in a public place is generally lawful. Devices are what the law controls. In New South Wales the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW) governs listening devices, optical devices, tracking devices and data surveillance, and licensing of investigators falls under the Security Industry Act 1997 (NSW), administered by the Security Licensing and Enforcement Directorate. If we are asked to do something that falls outside those rules, we will say no and explain why, and we will suggest a lawful way at the same problem.
About our agency
Anybody can claim experience. Here is what can be verified. Sydney Private Investigations has been operating since 2001 and trades as GORA Investigations Pty Ltd, ABN 34 600 932 438. We are a licensed agency. We hold NSW Master Licence 412080174. Every operative who works on your matter holds a current individual licence.
We are not a call centre that farms work out to whoever answers. You speak to an investigator, and if we cannot help we will say so rather than take a deposit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use what you find in court?
Material gathered lawfully and documented properly is generally admissible. We keep original files unaltered and can provide a statement from the operative if a matter proceeds.
How soon can you start in the Blue Mountains?
For most matters we can be working within twenty four to forty eight hours, and faster where the situation is urgent.
Can you put a tracking device on a vehicle?
Only where it is lawful, which generally means a vehicle you own. The Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW) restricts tracking devices and we will not breach it.
What do you need from me to start?
Whatever you already have. Names, addresses, vehicle details, dates and times, screenshots. You do not need it organised before you call.
How will I receive the report?
In writing, with an indexed log and any supporting media. We can send it to you directly or straight to your solicitor.
