Private Investigators in Bendigo
There is usually a point at which waiting and hoping stops working. Sydney Private Investigations has been investigating since 2002. We work throughout Bendigo, a major regional centre in central Victoria, and across the wider Victoria region. If the answer is that you do not need us, we will tell you that.

On the ground in Bendigo
Working in Bendigo means understanding a city where the surrounding bushland and small towns matter as much as the centre. Our operatives plan around that rather than turning up and hoping. Where a matter runs across several days we rotate vehicles and positions so that a familiar car never becomes part of the scenery.
We regularly work across Kangaroo Flat, Eaglehawk, Strathfieldsaye, Epsom, Castlemaine and Heathcote.
The law in Victoria
There is a lot of nonsense online about what an investigator may do, so here is the accurate version. Observation in a public place is generally lawful. Devices are what the law controls. In Victoria the Surveillance Devices Act 1999 (Vic) governs listening devices, optical devices, tracking devices and data surveillance, and licensing of investigators falls under the Private Security Act 2004 (Vic), administered by Victoria Police Licensing and Regulation Division. We would rather lose the job than gather something that cannot be used and cannot be undone.
Who you are dealing with
Before you hand over anything sensitive, here is who we are. Sydney Private Investigations has been operating since 2002 and trades as GORA Investigations Pty Ltd, ABN 34 600 932 438. We are a licensed agency. We hold VIC Master Licence Z6583160S. Every operative who works on your matter holds a current individual licence.
You will deal with the same people from the first call to the final report. Nothing gets handed to a stranger halfway through.
Frequently asked questions
Will anybody know I hired an investigator?
No. Our work is covert, our vehicles are unmarked and we report only to you, using whatever contact method you tell us is safe.
What if you cannot help me?
We will say so. There are matters that belong with police, with a lawyer or with nobody at all, and we would rather tell you that than take your money.
Do I have to come into an office?
No. Most of our clients never meet us in person. Briefings happen by phone and reports are delivered the way you ask for them.
What do you need from me to start?
Whatever you already have. Names, addresses, vehicle details, dates and times, screenshots. You do not need it organised before you call.
Can you put a tracking device on a vehicle?
Only where it is lawful, which generally means a vehicle you own. The Surveillance Devices Act 1999 (Vic) restricts tracking devices and we will not breach it.
